Our vision for Adopt A Cop USA is that our Students will develop more positive attitudes and bonds with police officers in their communities. That we will not only help create ambassadors and supporters of Law Enforcement for the next generation, but give children and young adults an opportunity to see beyond their own neighborhoods and build positive community relationships.
We believe AAC will not only benefit the students, parents, teachers and police officer relationships, but it will create safer communities and prevent juvenile crime.
Too often programs are designed to address problems after they occur. Our programs will in many cases represent the first time that students have had the opportunity to talk to and relate with law enforcement in an atmosphere that is positive and goals oriented.
The Adopt A Cop USA Mentoring Program is available to students everywhere, and who often have had little or no contact with law enforcement, thereby ensuring that their first one-on-one experience with law enforcement is non-threatening and conducive to the development of open lines of communication.
For those who have had contact with the police, AAC offers and opportunity for the children to get to know police officers as friends that are part of their community. It is also important for members of law enforcement to have the opportunity to approach their jobs as prevention agents rather than enforcers.
